Okay, your of the week....

Your song of the week is.....
And here's a bonus song :)
I hope you all enjoy these songs!!! Thanks for viewing!! :D -Pip
Hey all, late update AGAIN. Sorry. So here are your things from last week.
So for your quote of the week I thought I'd go with.... "Fred keeps touching me!" Sarah Michelle Gellar (Daphne Blake) from Scooby-Doo! It's the part when the gangs protoplasm's all switch bodies. I enjoy it :)
Your song is......
And I just thought that I would give you a bunch of videos for the middle of the week. :)
LOVE THIS SONG!!
So listen to some good music and have a laugh on me!-Pip
Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers reading this! And to all the people who aren't mothers, I hope you gave your mom a great day!
So for your recommendation I have two. First off, go for a walk. Now I'm not saying you're fat or unhealthy or anything, I'm just saying that a walk will always do you good. Stressed about your mid-term? Go for a walk. Bored out of your mind? Go for a walk. Walking especially in a beautiful area like the woods, is a great way to ease your mind and body. The fresh air will do you good too. And if you don't like being alone, grab a buddy and go for a double walk. :)
Secondly, I suggest you watch "Adventures in Babysitting" (1987). If you have ever babysat a troublemaker who made you want to rip out your hair, then you'll enjoy this movie. Here's a synopsis:
"Chris Parker agrees to babysit after her "dread" date stands her up. Expecting a dull evening, Chris settles down with three kids for a night of TV... and boredom. But when her frantic friend Brenda calls and pleads to be rescued from the bus station in downtown Chicago, the evening soon explodes into an endless whirl of hair-raising adventures! Babysitter and kids leave their safe suburban surroundings and head for the heart of the big city, never imagining how terrifyingly funny their expedition will become!"
Why did I like it?
The cast was great. It stars Elisabeth Shue (Chris), Maia Brewton (Sara), Keith Coogan (Brad), and Anthony Rapp (Darryl). The secondary characters are quite interesting in their own too.
The story was quite cute. It's a great movie to watch with friends or on a date. You really fall for the characters.
It's unpredictable. When I first watched it I was surprised at all of the trouble they got into. I didn't know what was going to happen.
The music. From the opening song "And Then He Kissed Me" to the scene in the Blues Bar where Chris sings "Babysitting Blues" the music was always catching.
So I really would go and watch it :)
Now for your weekly song and quote I have chosen.
"Get in the car and run him over." Maia Brewton (Sara) from Adventures in Babysitting
Oh my dear! I deeply apologize. Too many tests! Gah! Here's your stuff before I must depart you!
Recommendation
So for this weeks recommendation, I have for you a book. The book is called "Virals" and is written by the amazing Kathy Reichs. You may have heard of some of her stuff before. You know the show Bones? Well she writes the books that that tv show is based on. Cool huh? Anywho, Virals is her first teenage book and it is amazing. I really enjoyed it. It's a book for those loving mystery semi adventure, and science all mixed together. Sorry that my description is a bit lax on details, but there is such a thing as google. Type in Virals by Kathy Reichs and read the description. Highly recommended!!
Of the Week
So for the of the week I had troubles trying to pick stuff, but here you go.
Song: Lost in the Echo Artist: Linkin Park
The quote is.. "Gimme some fin, noggin, dude" Crush from Finding Nemo
Are you a wimp? Do you like wimpy things? Then have I got the website for you! It is called Wimp.com! Every week they upload five top-grossing videos. They are quite interesting :D
"Well you may not like him Minister. But you've got to admit. Dumbledore's got style." George Harris (Kingsley Shaklebolt) from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Your song of the week is...
Hope you all have a wonderful day! :D Love you-Pip
Hi everyone! I'm sorry for being late! SUPER BUSY! Forgive me?
HERE is the recommendation without further adieu!
So for this week's recommendation I h ave for you a very lovely, very beautiful, and very amazing game. I'm sure some of you may have already played it or have at least heard of it. It's a little game called
BIOSHOCK INFINITE!!!
I love this game. Reasons?
1: The beautiful graphics.
2: The atmosphere.
3: The intensity.
4: The great story.
5: I could seriously go on and on and on but I feel you'd get bored so I'll stop now. But you should just know that it's freaking awesome. Ok? ok!
OF THE WEEK NOW
Your vonderful quote for this vonverful veek is...
"Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies" from Shawshank Redemption (I forgot who said this).
And your vonderful song is...
La Bamba (just to annoy my good friend Pippin :) )
Hola fellow nerdoids! I hope you are all having a splendid April cause I know I am! Although I did get a couple of inches of snow the other day... But I love snow so I don't care! Wouldn't it just be the best thing to be able to control snow and ice? I've always wanted that power!!!!
Anyways.... So, I have quite the amazing show to recommend for you today. Do you wanna know what it is? Well, do you? Come on! Please!!!.......... It's really gooooooodd!!!!!...................YES!! Thank you!!!!!!
So this over amazing show is none other that Bates Motel!!!!! It's a new show on A&E starring Freddie Highmore, Vera Farmiga, and Max Thieroit.
What is it about?
My mom and I have been watching it every week from the beginning but we're not 100% sure as to what it is about. It seems to be an up to date version of Norman Bates life before he became psycho. (Norman Bates was the protagonist in Psycho)
Norman's (Freddie Highmore) father was killed in a suspicious accident in the garage so his mother, Norma, (Vera Farmiga) and him moved and bought a motel.
His half-brother, Dylan, (Max Thieroit) and his mother are always arguing after he randomly pops up at their doorstep looking for a place to stay.
The previous owner of the motel is not at all pleased that Norma has purchased the motel and house that used to belong to him. He threatens her to leave or else.
That's all I'm going to tell you without giving away any of the juicy details.
Why do I like it?
So far, the plot line is really engaging. I'm usually pretty good with guessing what's going to happen in shows and movies but with Bates Motel I have no idea. Basically anything can happen in this show. It has drama in it but not to much to make it a soap. There's suspense, a little romance, humour, and even a little action.
The score consists of a little bit of everything. Norman Bates has a fetish for old movies and songs, so a lot of the music is older however, they also play up to date songs such as "A-Team" by Ed Sheeran.
The characters are really well developed. Most of them are quite mysterious seeing as we don't know much about them yet but every now and then one of them will do or say something that makes you question them. They all have a certain aura about them that makes them suspicious.
With the main cast of characters, I found that each actor chosen to play them was a good choice. Vera and Max both play up the feud between their characters very well. I have seen Freddie Highmore in many films from when he was a little boy to just recently. In my opinion he has always been a phenomenal actor. His performance in Finding Neverland was quite moving. As his character in Bates Motel goes through the struggle of losing his father, moving to a new school, and dealing with his messed up family, Highmore finds himself having to emerge in emotional and difficult scenes. As he could from a young age, his performances are moving and believable.
So, I hope you will all check it out soon. New episodes appear on Monday at 8pm/c on A&E. If you want to check it out I highly suggest watching it from the beginning and you can do so by going on to the A&E website here, http://www.aetv.com/bates-motel/video/, and watch them! Have fun!
And now on to the weekly music and quote!
Out of all of the amazing movie quotes out there you guys have to idea how hard it is for us to pick one a week. But after much deliberation I have picked this one for you.
"Oh go suck an egg rabbit." Jude Law (Pitch) from Rise of the Guardians :) (AMAZING MOVIE)
And your song is none other than.......... wait for it...... Copperhead Road! by Steve Earl!
And just because you all are so cute and probably have no idea who this is, have a bonus video!!!
And here's another one which is kinda dark and creep.... :3
Hope you all enjoy it! See you soon!! Mwah!! :D Much love- Pippin
Hi everyone!! It's me again! Me, the illustrious, amazing, and awesome Merry! So I decided to do my stuff all together in one nicely wrapped bundle of pure awesomeness. Yes.. awesomeness. I like that word.... ANYWAYS
Here is your Recommendation!
This week I have yet ANOTHER anime. This anime I am recommending is an awesome one I finished two weeks ago called STEINS;GATE!!
This anime is great. It's different from the others I have recommended, and I highly enjoyed it. As for genre, this anime is sorta in the Sci-Fi era.. but I could be corrected. I probably watched the whole anime in two days xD
Why I liked this anime:
1) THE SHEER UNIQUENESS of it all. It was completely different which made me love it!
2) The characters- all of them had their own little quirks.
3) Now, the main reason.... THE STORY! It was great. It all tied up. Completely amazing. :3
4) Other reasons!
OF THE WEEK TIME!
The quote for this week is "I knew that guy when he was a caterpillar, you know, before he "came out"" by Buck (Simon Pegg) from "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs"
And the song is..."No One Would Listen" sung by the awesome Gerard Butler (You know, the "I AM SPARTA" guy) from the movie The Phantom of the Opera. This was actually from a scene that was deleted from the actual movie. I have absolutely no idea why because this is freaking beautiful. Anywho, Enjoy!!
Hope you all have a fantastic week! Until next time! <3 Merry! :) :3
Monday, 1 April 2013
Wow... Again I am so sorry for the very late update. Hey that rhymed! Sorry... So, to start off this post I would like you all to take a moment of silence and remember a great actor by the name of Richard Griffiths better known as Vernon Dursley in the Harry Potter series. He will be greatly missed.
On a lighter note, yesterday was none other than MERRY'S BIRTHDAY!!!! Happy Birthday Merry!!!!! We all hope you had a great day!!! Oh, and April Fool's everyone!!! :D
So let's get down to business, I have a wonderful story that I would like you all to read. You may have heard it before. It is called "The Tale of the Three Brothers" and can be found in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
“There were once three brothers who were traveling along a lonely, winding road at twilight. In time, the brothers reached a river too deep to wade through and too dangerous to swim across.. However, these brothers were learned in the magical arts, and so they simply waved their wands and made a bridge appear across the treacherous water. They were halfway across it when they found their path blocked by a hooded figure.
And Death spoke to them. He was angry that he had been cheated out of three new victims, for travelers usually drowned in the river. But Death was cunning. He pretended to congratulate the three brothers upon their magic and said that each had earned a prize for having been clever enough to evade him.
So the oldest brother, who was a combative man, asked for a wand more powerful than any in existence: a wand that must always win duels for its owner, a wand worthy of a wizard who had conquered Death! So Death crossed to an elder tree on the banks of the river, fashioned a wand from a branch that hung there, and gave it to the oldest brother.
Then the second brother, who was an arrogant man, decided that he wanted to humiliate Death still further, and asked for the power to recall others from Death. So Death picked up a stone from the riverbank and gave it to the second brother, and told him that the stone would have the power to bring back the dead.
And then Death asked the third and youngest brother what he would like. The youngest brother was the humblest and also the wisest of the brothers, and he did not trust Death. So he asked for something that would enable him to go forth from that place without being followed by Death. And death, most unwillingly, handed over his own Cloak of Invisibility.
Then Death stood aside and allowed the three brothers to continue on their way, and they did so, talking with wonder of the adventure they had had, and admiring Death’s gifts. In due course the brothers separated, each for his own destination.
The first brother traveled on for a week or more, and reaching a distant village, sought out a fellow wizard with whom he had a quarrel. Naturally with the Elder Wand as his weapon, he could not fail to win the duel that followed. Leaving his enemy dead upon the floor, the oldest brother proceeded to an inn, where he boasted loudly of the powerful wand he had snatched from Death himself, and of how it made him invincible.
That very night, another wizard crept upon the oldest brother as he lay, wine-sodden, upon his bed. The thief took the wand and, for good measure, slit the oldest brother’s throat.
And so Death took the first brother for his own.
Meanwhile, the second brother journeyed to his own home, where he lived alone. Here he took out the stone that had the power to recall the dead, and turned it thrice in his hand. To his amazement and his delight, the figure of the girl he had once hoped to marry, before her untimely death, appeared at once before him.
Yet she was sad and cold, separated from him as by a veil. Though she had returned to the mortal world, she did not truly belong there and suffered. Finally the second brother, driven mad with hopeless longing, killed himself so as truly to join her.
And so Death took the second brother for his own.
But though Death searched for the third brother for many years, he was never able to find him. It was only when he had attained a great age that the youngest brother finally took off the Cloak of Invisibility and gave it to his son. And then he greeted Death as an old friend, and went with him gladly, and, equals, they departed this life.”
-Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,Chapter Twenty-One
Hope you liked it! Now on to the of the week stuff...

Hi y'all. How are you? I'm really sad but I'm not gonna drown you with my sad tale of sadly sadness.
So...
Here ya go!
Today I have 3 lovely things for you. 2 ANIMES. and 1 STORY read by none other than my favorite YouTuber, ChaoticMonki (Cry).
The first anime is BLOOD-C!!!
This is a great anime that I just finished the other day. Although it is short, and frankly quite confusing at times, it is still good. Warning to all people, this anime contains quite a lot of blood as I'm assuming you can tell from the title.
Why I liked this anime:
- As you should all know, I love action. This anime has action. That is good.
- Interesting story with a plot change I had NOT expected in the least.
- Uniqueness.
- Many other reasons :3
The second anime is KAICHOU WA MAID SAMA!!!
This anime is great, and mostly recommended for girls. It is also really funny.
Why I liked it:
- The sheer funniness. It cheered me up.
- I absolutely adored the characters. They were all beautiful.
- Cool story.
- Many other reasons... again. :3
BUT! I ABSOLUTELY HATED THE END! WHY!?!?!?! gah. Anyways, watch.
STORY TIME!!!!!
Its called "Obsessive Compulsive" written by CreepyCarbs, and read by Cry. Enjoy.
Hope you have a good week. See ya on the weekend!
<3 Merry
Yo yo yo, whats shaking? I hope you're all having a great weekend everyone. Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! What are you all doing to celebrate this wonderful day? Me? I'm just sitting at home, being bored... Yup.. Ain't it fun? But that is all gonna end some day because on my bucket list, is "Spend at least one St. Patrick's Day in Ireland." Would you like to learn some fascinating facts about St. Patrick's Day? Of course you would what a stupid question!
St. Patrick's Day is observed on March 17 because that is the feast day of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. It is believed that he died on March 17 in the year 461 AD. It is also a worldwide celebration of Irish culture and history. St. Patrick's Day is a national holiday in Ireland, and a provincial holiday in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
The actual colour of St. Patrick is blue. Green became associated with St. Patrick's Day during the 19th century. Green, in Irish legends, was worn by fairies and immortals, and also by people to encourage their crops to grow.
Lucky Charms, a favourite cereal brand amoung many, young and old, was created in 1963, with its popular mascot, Lucky the Leprechaun.
In Ireland on St. Patrick's Day, people traditionally wear a small bunch of shamrocks on their jackets or caps. Children wear orange, white and green badges, and women and girls wear green ribbons in their hair.
The phrase, "Drowning The Shamrock" is from the custom of floating the shamrock on the top of whiskey before drinking it. The Irish believe that if you keep the custom, then you will have a prosperous year.
Well there ya go! I hope you all learned something new! :D
Now on to what you came here for!.....
Your quote of the week is... "Inside every man, there are two dogs fighting. A good dog and an evil dog. The one that wins is the one you feed the most." -Cherokee Tale
Your song of the week is... Head Over Feeling by Taylor Matthews
Have a great St. Patrick's Day everyone! Love you all!! :D
OMG! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's..... me. :3
Haha hey everyone. Long time no see. Hows it goin? For me.. well lets just say that it could be goin better. Considerably better. BUT don't mind me. I'm being dramatic, and I bet you guys didn't come here to read my little dramatic life story, am I right? *pauses* Yup. That's what I thought.
ANYWAYS. Once again I beg for your forgiveness for the late recommendation. I'm sorry, but hey! At least the Of the Week is on time. That's gotta count for something, right?
RECOMMENDATION TIME!
So for this week's recommendation I have for you MORE ANIME! Must I repeat myself? Fine. I repeat MORE ANIME! Isn't it awesome!? Oh how I love the wonderful shows created by the Japanese. Beautiful.
The anime I have to recommend to you is an older one (although it's not that old) from 2008 (I think. Don't get mad at me if I'm wrong.)
It's called...
AQUARION!
This anime is great. I haven't finished it, but I do quite enjoy it. Some people may think that it's sort of a rip off of transformers do to the huge robotic thingy-ma-jig, but I don't care. I still like it.
Why I liked it...
- It has an interesting storyline. As you should know from my previous recommendations, story is VERY important to me, so if it has a great storyline, then yay! Anyways, yes. This has an interesting story, and I'm eager to find out out it ends.
- Action. What else besides a great story do you need? ACTION of course! Duh. Haha. Anyways, yes, this has action and I like it.
- Comedic relief. Although it's not always apparent, (i.e. spoken) I was always just entertained by the multiple expressions that Sylvia has. From a scale between Nicki Minaj and Kristen Stewart, I'd say that Sylvia contends with Nicki.
- And of course, many other reasons. :3
OF THE WEEK TIME!
So now onto the Of The Week.
The quote for this week is:
"You have a minor case of serious brain damage"- Wheatley (I HAVE NO IDEA WHO VOICES HIM) from Portal 2
And the song you are looking forward to is "Want You Gone" which is in the ending credits of Portal 2. Enjoy!
Hope you enjoyed this update everyone! Stay nerdy my friends! :3
-<3 Merry
Hey guys, so I'm going to recommend my dear friend Dave's youtube channel. He's a really funny comedian who makes loads of random videos. Some of them do involve Christianity because he is Christian, but most don't. He has made a video trailer for a film mocking Twilight, and he has a few videos featuring "Rico the Puppet". You can also follow him on Twitter at, @thedaverae. Here's the link to his youtube channel. http://www.youtube.com/user/davidjrae Okay so seriously go and check it out!! :D
And your of the week was hard for me. I finally decided on these...
Your quote is... "There's a hole in this cake." Lainie Kazan (Maria Portokalos) from My Big Fat Greek Wedding
Your song is...
So I hope you all enjoy your March!! Bye bye! Love Pippin :)
Hello everyone. This is going to be short and sweet. I'm sorry about last week but I was really sick. I had a cold, a flu, and bronchitis. I was NOT being lazy. I'm still not 100% up to snuff so I don't really want to do this for very long.
So, I've decided to make your quote of the week,
"It's a fusion of jazz and funk. It's called junk!" Robin Williams (Fender) from Robots
And your song is....
The boys redid this single for Red Nose Day. They teamed up with Comic Relief to help people in the UK and Africa live better lives. :) So, go and buy it and you will help people out!
Here's a quick bonus video. It's a commercial I've been seeing on tv that I love.
Alrighty so hello cool people. Guess what! It's me, Merry, doing last week's "Of The Week" because a certain someone by the name of Pippin was to lazy. tsk tsk tsk. Haha I don't mind.
Anywho here is the Of The Week.
The quote of the week is:
"Take criticism, smash it into dust, add colour, and use it to paint breathtaking images of unicorns frolicking through endless fields of greatness." This lovely quote is from Matthew Gray Gubler.
The song is "Music of the Night" from... Phantom of the Opera... :3
ENJOY
NOW ONTO THE RECOMMENDATION
So.. The recommendation. Cooool. I know exactly what I'm going to recommend to you. Are you excited? Hmm?
Okay. Without further ado, here ya go.
THE RECOMMENDATION IS....
Why am I recommending this you ask? Well it's simple. It's because of the pure beauty and uniqueness of it. As soon as I saw it, I fell in love with it. I can't really say what made me love it so much. Was it the great cast? The gothic feel? The music? Maybe it was a mixture of all of them? I seriously don't know. Haha, anyways, I seriously just have to recommend this. Le sigh... :3
Now, I think it is about time for me to go and sleep. I'm very tired... and sick. Don't you hate being sick? IT SUCKS! -_-. Anyways... Yeah... I'm gonna go now. Look forwards to Pip's Of The Week which should hopefully be on time! And.... IDK.
Alright. I'm gonna go now. (And yes I know I've said already.. a few times. :P) Enjoy your week everyone!
Happy Valentine's day everyone!! Guess what I'm doing? I've got a hot date! Yeah that's right, Pippin has got a date!..... At a Chinese restaurant with my parents. -_- Woot woot. But I like Chinese food so it's all good plus we're getting black forest cake afterwards. Not a bad way to spend it in my opinion. So, if you're all bummed out that you don't have a date, don't worry, you'll find someone special soon. :)
So, for all you people who don't need a date to be happy, this is for you!!! I decided that today people need a good laugh so I'm gonna be posting a couple of videos. :)
I love Monty Python
Here's one we watched in my guitar class.. It's great :D
And of course for all you people who are lonely here's a song for you to let you know that even the underdog can get the girl/boy. <3
Have a lovely day everyone! Love you all! Mwah <3 -Pip
Alright people. I know I'm late... Like, really, REALLY late for both the Review and Of The Week, but for once I'm actually prepared!! Shocked aren't you? Ha, ya I am too. :3
So to start things off I will do the Recommendation.
This week I am recommending a few animes/mangas that I absolutely love. For those of you that don't know what anime is, it's a Japanese animation generally based off of a manga which is the equivalent to a graphic novel.
The 1st one I'm recommending is...
OURAN HIGH SCHOOL HOST CLUB!
It may sound strange and not your cup of tea, but give it a try. I hadn't really thought that it would be any good, but after watching the first episode, I couldn't stop watching it. I watched the whole anime in one day and I was heart-broken when it ended.
Why I liked it...
-The characters were great. You really got to learn more about them and they seemed more realistic. For me, that's a PLUS!
-Entertaining story-line. It may have been a bit confusing at times, but it's still great none-the-less. If you're confused just keep on watching, it'll clear up later on.
-The humor. It was great. I seriously laughed throughout the whole show. SOOO FUNNY! :D :3
-And... MANY MANY OTHER REASONS!
The 2nd one I'm recommending is...
SOUL EATER!
This one is generally recommended for guys (the manga especially) but I have to say I loved this anime. It ranks up close to the top of my favourites. After the 3rd or 4th episode I understood what was happening and was immediately sucked in.
Why I liked it...
-Unique. That's one way to describe it, I guess. All what I can say is that it was something outside of the box.
-The characters. Although there were a few characters that drove me nuts and wanted to kill them, I loved the majority of them. They are all 'unique' in their own way.
-Lights! Camera!.... ACTION! Lots of action in this. I love action so that was a definite plus for me.
-And (like the last) MANY MANY OTHER REASONS!
So I hope you enjoyed the Review/Recommendation.
NOW ONTO THE OF THE WEEK
So it's this time. The time you've all been holding your breath for. Well then. Shall I continue? Or shall I leave you now and make you all hate me for keeping this from you? Okay. Okay. I can feel your angry stares. I'll give you what you want.
So the quote issss....
"The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about the problem. Do you understand?" Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) from "Pirates of the Carribean" (i forgot which one though).
And the song is.....
Anywho, I'm done for the night. I hope you all enjoyed! Peace out!! :D
So guys, have you all gone and checked out Beecake? If yes, aren't they amazing?? If no, go and doooo it! It'll totally be worth it. Now as I said they are one of my favourite bands, and one of my other favourite bands you might have heard of. They go by the name of One Direction. Ring any bells? If not, get out of the hole in the ground you are living in cause they are a worldwide phenominon. One Direction consists of Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, and Harry Styles. Yes they are a boy band but before you say "Ew a boy band" let me say this. Boy bands aren't bad at all if they can sing. They boys of One direction can sing. But they are not the stereotype of boy bands. They don't dance (except when Niall does his Riverdance impression) and all of them except Harry actually play an instrument. Naill, Liam, and Louis play guitar in a lot of their songs. So please don't hate on them and their fans. They're just doing what they love.
ANYWAYS.... Let's get on with it....
Your quote for this week is "So being a ladybug automatically makes me a girl? Is that it, Flyboy?" Dennis Leary (Francis) from "A Bugs Life)
Your song for this week is... "Kiss You" by One Direction from their new album "Take Me Home" (And yeah, I have no idea what the video is about either)
Hey Hey Hey!! What's happening?? So my friends and I just finished with our exams! Woot! Finally, a new semester starts now where I will be taking Guitar Level 2! You guys should really learn how to play an instrument. It's so relaxing and fun. I play the sax, guitar, piano, violin (not well), drums (sorta), and I've always wanted to learn the bagpipes... I think it's the Scottish in me. So anyways, when we first made The Nerd Word I decided that somehow I was going to mention one of my favourite bands of all time. Beecake. The band consists of one of my favourite actors, Billy Boyd (Pippin from The Lord of the Rings), Billy Johnston, John Crawford & Rick Martin. They have a facebook page so if you have facebook go and like em!!
I really encourage you guys to check them out. Billy Boyd has got a beautiful voice. Their music kind of varies, it's rock and then sometimes soft rock but it's really good.
This is one of my favourite songs by them....
And this is another one,...
So, go and check em out!!! Seriously. Do it. Now. Go.... I'm waiting............................................................................................................................................... Good. So you shall not regret it. Bubi! :3 -Pippin
Soooo.... I'm sorry. Again. I've been busy. Again. Want to know why? I was studying. AGAIN. Stupid exams -_-.
Anyways how was everybody's week? Mine was jam-packed with Physics. Oh, it's so much fun! *cough*not*cough*
So for this week's quote;
"Some believe it is only great power that can hold evil in check. But that is not what I have found. I have found that it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love," Gandalf (Ian McKellen) from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
The song is....
Lastly, the weekly facts are....
1. New research has shown that children exposed to family violence show the same pattern of activity in their brains as soldiers exposed to combat.
2. A shrimp's heart is in it's head.
3.An ostrich's eye is bigger than it's brain! (I knew it! I knew they were that stupid from the beggining! *shudders* I hate ostriches. Absolutely terrified of them)
OH! And also the Nerd Word would like to mention a big belated happy birthday to none other then the actor who brought Frodo Baggins to the big screen, Elijah Wood! We love you!
So.... I know this was supposed to be up on Wednesday and I deeply apologize for the wait. Umm. I know I should be prepared and give you guys an awesome Review/Recomendation but I'm not quite sure what to type about. "thinking..." Hmm.. Wow, this is exactly how my review thingy started two weeks ago! Gah! I'm useless at blogging.
GIMME A MINUTE TO THINK! please :3
...
Ooookay.... think I got it.
So.. I know Pip did a recommendation last week for a website, but I'm gonna do one too!
There is little website called StumbleUpon. It's a great little site where you put in your interests, and within moments are welcomed with a whole bunch of websites connected to those interests. I personally haven't used this site yet (due to not being able to go on the computer lately- but I plan on using it soon), but a good friend of Pip's and mine is talking about it all the time. She is always saying "OMG I found this amazing website on StumbleUpon!" trust me, she says that a lot.
ANYWHO, about the site. For those who love cooking, just say that you like to cook new and unique dishes, and voila! New and unique dishes will bombard you. For you geeky/nerdy folks like Pip and I just say... geeky stuff. You know... What you like.
Umm... I think I'm done. Not quite sure what else to say. As I said, I'm useless at blogging.
Well then... I'm embarrassed at my lack of ability. I think I may go and fling myself into the fiery pit of Mount Doom.
I'm going to tell you all about my week. First, I woke up. Then I ate Breakfast. Then I had Second Breakfast. Then I had Elevensies. Then I had Luncheon. Then I had Afternoon Tea. Then I had Dinner. Then I had Supper. Then I read. Then I went to bed. Every day this happened. (To an extent). But why you may ask? Well I shall tell you the reason. I was getting ready to go and see......... THE HOBBIT!!!!!!!!! Yes! Last wednesday, I FINALLY got to see The Hobbit. I had been waiting to see it since I first found out it was going to be made into a movie. And when it came out on December 14th I was extatic. I wanted to go see it sooner but alas, I could not! But I tell ya, it was so worth the wait!!! Here's why I love it (don't worry no spoliers)
The cinematography
Cast (So beautiful)
Plot line
Music (I was defiantly transported back to Middle Earth)
Crew
Director (Peter Jackson is my hero)
Setting
Script
Action
Basically everything about it :D
I am so antsy until December when "The Desolation of Smaug" comes out. And then next summer when "There and Back Again" comes out!! EEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKK
Okay, I suppose I should get on with everything....
Your quote I have been saying in my mind since wednesday, "I'm going on an adventure!" -Martin Freeman (Bilbo Baggins) from none other than "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey"
And your song is one of beauty and magnificence :D "Blunt the Knives" from The Hobbit composed by a true musician, Howard Shore.
And here is the trailer, for The Hobbit.. cause I'm cool like that. :)
Here's the other one :3
Okay so that is all for today... I love you all!!!! Have a Hobbity day and go on an adventure!!! :D -Pip
Hey y'all! How has everyone's week been? Again I am sorry for the late update but I've been really busy. So I've decided to tell you guys about this really cool website call Pinterest! It's also an app so I encourage you to check it out.
What it is, is, a place where you can go and upload photos and videos of anything you want. IT IS NOT LIKE FACEBOOK! Just had to clarify. You can search for basically anything and a bunch of different "pins" or posts will pop up.
There are also many different "boards" which are usually catagorized. There are many catagories such as the usuall, gardening, heath, animals, ect. But, there are also some amazingly unusual boards such as, geek, science and nature, history, celebrities, and so many more!
It such an amazing website. One warning though, one look and you may find yourself addicted. That's what happened to me... I also got Merry on it!! HAHAHA :D
Well, please take my advice and look it up. The app is free too!! So, have a nerdy day!! -With love, the freak, Pip <3 :)
Well hello again! How have you been? I've been great... Been doing a lot of 3D modeling.... but you know what? it's fun! Seriously. You guys should try it. Just download this program called Blender... and you're all set to animate 3D objects!
ANYWHO off to the cool stuffs.
The song of this wonderful week is "Daylight" by Maroon 5.
The quote is....
"You can't stop bullying- it's part of human nature. If you were bigger and more stupid you'd probably be a bully too. It's called 'survival of the thickest'." Neil (Tucker Albrizzi) from ParaNorman.
And because I enjoyed this one too...
Mitch (Casey Affleck): "You don't need to be hanging around weird people, okay? That's a tip."
Neil (Tucker Albrizzi): "Don't blow this one for me, Mitch. This one's not weird. He talks to dead people."
Now the Nerd Word is starting something new this week everyone! Along with the normal quote and song, we will be adding an "Of The Week" FACT too! Cool, huh? Yes I know. It's so cool that you fell off of your chair.... or stool.... or whatever else you may be sitting on. So to start off the new thingy, here is your first fact!!! :3
The fact is....
The University of Florida has an emergency plan in case of a sudden zombie attack. And another university (or college... I forgot which) has it's dorms named after regions in Lord of the Rings. Pretty cool, huh?
And one more thing before I say goodbye, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ORLANDO BLOOM! <3 We love you!
Okay.. well goodbye people! May the force be with you! <3 Merry
Hellooooooo peoples. Whats crackalackin? ... I really shouldn't have said that but oh well! xD So... before I get to my review/recommendation of an awesome game I'm just gonna rant a bit about something, namely called "my phone". I hate it some days! Have any of you ever had the problem where your iPhone deletes everything on it? Like, contacts, music, videos, apps, and then says it's "to full" to download anything onto it? Grr... thats what happened to me, PLUS it was acting up saying that I had no service when I was smack-dab in the middle of a humongous city. -_- If something like this has happened to any of you and you know how to fix it PLEASE (I beg of you) PLEASE email me your suggestion! (thenerdword96@gmail.com)
*deep breath* Okay! And onto a review! :3
So I know this is a day early, and Pip did an update yesterday, but I don't care! I felt like doing an update.
So... Have any of you heard of this awesome game called...
???
If you have, YOU ARE AWESOME, and if you haven't then you will soon be enthralled by the horrible explanation I am about to do about this freaking AWESOME game. I love it. I... I don't really know how else to say it. lol
Reasons Why I Liked This Game:
Great graphics. They were very realistic.
The story line for single-player is awesome. Brings some insight about whats going on and how everything came to be.
The robots from single-player and co-op are all entertaining. The little phrases and gestures amused myself and the other player I was gaming with.
How Could It Be Improved?
Valve could have made it so that the player knows where to go when in the wide open spaces and how to get there a bit easier. I got stuck A LOT farther on in the game and I was confused on what to do.
... Umm.... I don't know... I think I'm done in this section. CARRY ON.
Soo... Portal 2. Great game. No shooting, just a strategic game. Good for those that love mind puzzle thingies. I liked it. Now I just have to finish the first game. ... Sweet!
Umm.. As I said, that was a horrible explanation, but please try it. You may find you like this game. Actually you will like, that's guaranteed.
Have any suggestions of games/movies/t.v. shows/ comics or anything else for us? PLEASE we welcome all suggestions! Just email us the name of the thingy with a quick little blurb about what its about and we'll check it out!
Okay so here it goes, I hope you guys have all checked out Firefly because it's so AWESOME! Thank you also for checking out "The Nerd Word"! We appreciate it!
So for your quote I have chosen one from "The Avengers" "Puiny God" Mark Ruffalo-Bruce Banner/Hulk, Lou Ferrigno-Voice of The Hulk
Your song is, "The Misty Mountains Cold" from "The Hobbit" written by Howard Shore :D
So, first of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope that you all had a great first week of 2013! May your year be awesome.
Second, Happy Birthday to my favourite author ever, John Ronald Reuel Tolkien!!!! He was born in 1892 on the 3rd of January! I have so much to say about him that I will just send you a link and you can read it yourself, http://www.tolkiensociety.org/tolkien/biography.html. There ya go! Also a huge Happy Birthday to my Grandpa Jack! (He's an amazing artist!) Warm hugs and wishes Grandpa!
Now, let's get down to buisness. Yesterday my wonderful cousin and his wonderful girlfriend introduced me to an amazing show. Unfortunatly it had only one season but no one knows why considering that it is FANTABULASTIC. So maybe you heard of it, Firefly? Now I'm not very good at recomendations so just bear with me. It has a great cast featering Alan Tudyk and Summer Glau. It's sci-fi yet the music is somewhat Celtic. I love it! If you like Star Wars or Star Trek or Sci-Fi or awesome shows, then Firefly is for you! When you're done with the one season :'( watch Serenity. It's a movie based on the show!!!
So, until tomorrow, uhhh I tried thinking of something great to say but I couldn't say anything..... Bye :D -Pippin
