I have THREE shows, I repeat THREE SHOWS, that I recommend to you people.
1: The Walking Dead- an AMAZINGLY fantastic show based off of Robert Kirkman's graphic novels "The Walking Dead". As the title suggests, it's about zombies, but I love it because you get a great story. It's amazing and I highly recommend it.
2: Supernatural- a great show about to two brothers that hunt the supernatural. It's great, plus they are pretty darn attractive.
3: Invader Zim- ITS SUPER awesome and weird, but I love it. It's animated, but highly entertaining. It's about this little alien dude Zim, and his robot Gir, who come to Earth to destroy it... Ahh... it's amazing. Watch it.

Reviews For You!

Hey all. So. Umm..  I guess I'll do a little review... thingy.... yeah.... O.o Anywho, I thought I'd do my review on an amazing game. For XBox 360 and PC.

*****DRUM ROLL*****

The mystery game is..... LEFT 4 DEAD

Made by Valve, this game is an intense first person shooter that is very fun and addictive. It's a great game for those who love to fight hoards of zombies and have cooperative skills.

There are four playable characters in this game that comprise of Bill (the old veteran), Louis (I don't know what he does, but he annoys me), Francis (the biker dude who is pretty bad @$$) and Zoey (the only female).

Along with the normal everyday zombie that you find in games, Left 4 Dead throws some sneaky little guys at you. These are the "special infected".

Hunter- he pounces on you. Distinguishable by the loud screams and growls. Very fast and vicious, but easy to kill (especially with a shotgun ;]).

Smoker- grabs you with his tongue and can pull you long distances. They are distinguishable by their loud hacking cough and by the smoke surrounding them. They are on buildings, vehicles, in buildings, and any place possible. Quite often they will pull you into a hoard and then you'll be pounded and suffocated to death.

Boomer- pukes a very disgusting bile on you that blurs your vision for a certain amount of time. The bile attracts hoards so it's best to try to avoid it. Before killing a Boomer, make sure to push him away before shooting him otherwise you and you're teammates will be covered in bile, thus resulting in a hoard.

Witch- a cry baby. A very annoying, very deadly cry baby. DO NOT shine them with your flashlight, shoot them, walk to close to them, or startle them in anyway. They can kill you easily. When you hear their distinguishable sobs (and then opera music that accompanies them) be very careful. Turn your flashlight off, and try to avoid them.

Tank- pretty much Arnold Schwarzenegger and LOTS and LOTS of steroids. Just saying. This guy is one HUGE mutated monkey man and is very beastly. Punches walls, throws cars, even goes so far to punch you off buildings (It's happened to me many, many times), this is one tough cookie. My advice? Lock and load em, and run for your life. FYI, a Molotov comes in handy when fighting these guys.

Even with four campaigns, this game and be pretty repetitive over time, but that doesn't mean it's not fun. So what do you do when you get board of it? Put it on the shelf until you want to play it again! It's as easy as that!

Anywho, that was a little Review/Recommendation for you all out there. I hope you try it, and maybe I'll see ya on XBox Live!

ONE MORE LITTLE THING
If you guys have any questions for the game (like cheats, tips, that sorta stuff) feel free to comment or send us an email! I'll be glad to answer your questions to best of my ability! And if you don't have questions but would like to give everyone else tips/tricks/cheats, just post a comment. I like finding out new things to try.

Well it was great doing this little update for ya. So now I'll bid you all a very fond Good Night.
-Merry <3

Of The Week

Oh. My. Goodness. Dreamworks has truely truely outdone itself. I saw Rise of the Guardians on the weekend and from the very very beginning I was on the edge of my seat. It was amazing!! The characters completely came alive. The soundtrack was amazing. The graphics were outstanding. I love it. It was spectacular. I almost cried. Highlight of my weekend!!! :D So, I suppose you want me to get on to it huh? Well not yet!!! I still need to tell how I WANT IT TO SNOW SO BADLY!!! It snowed a lot at my house on Friday and then most of it left. :( unhappy face!! Jack Frost needs to come and have a snow day at my house. Now.

Okay so... Your quote for the week is..... "My name is Jack Frost. How do I know that? The moon told me. That's the only thing he ever told me." -Chris Pines (Jack Frost) from Rise of the Guardians

Your song is quite beautiful. It's composed by Alexandre Desplat

Hope you enjoyed it!! And go watch Rise of the Guardians!! You won't be dissapointed!!! Chow!! XD -Pippin.

Reviews for You!

Hey all you nerds out there! Are you sick and tired of only reading the songs and quotes of the week? Well sorry about that. But I am here to let you know that, WE ARE DOING SOMETHING NEW! That's right, here at The Nerd Word we're shaking things up a bit. That's the way we like it. Shaken not stirred. Anyways.... Starting today, Merry and I will be uploading a review, article, or something else every Wednesday to give you more entertainment! Hope you enjoy them. So today with the new Red Dawn movie out I thought I'd talk about it considering I've seen the original. First off, no matter how good the new one is, it will NOT be better than the original. Few movies are when it comes to remakes. I feel like I have a lot of power over you people because I could spoil it right now and tell you who all dies. :P But don't worry I won't. So, why did I love te original Red Dawn? Hmmm... Well, it was AMAZING! The cast was super talented and I loved them all! I think it was one of Charlie Sheen's best performances. The story was also well done. It was based at the start of WW3 but it's not based on a true story. The soundtrack was great and there was so much emotion. You could really grow a love for the characters. Yes some of the do die of course, and it is depressing becaus you fall for them. I know every time I watch the old one I cry. :3 well, I think I'm glnna see the new one at some point. I suggest that you all watch it too but I think you should watch the old one first!! Love you all my little nerdies!! :) <3

-Fare thee well! Love The Freak Under the Bed, Pippin! ;)

Of The Week

Hey all. Hows it going? Hows school? Work? Life in general? If its going all good then YAY, if not... I'm sorry. So... I guess you are looking forwards to this of the week. Am I right? Hmm? Well too bad. It's not gonna happen.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
HA! Just kidding! Alrighty, well I feel like spicing things up so this week you get a song,  2 quotes (because I was having troubles choosing), AND a story w/ a video of someone reading it. Sweet, right? Hehehehehehehehehehehehehe. <- that was a lot of "he"s...

The  first quote for this week is:
Will Turner (Orlando Bloom): Where's Elizabeth?
Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp): She's safe, just like I promised. She's all set to marry Norrington, just like she promised. And you get to die for her, just like you promised. So we're all men of our word really... except for, of course, Elizabeth, who is in fact, a woman. - From "Pirates of the Caribbean:The Curse of the Black Pearl"
And the second is:
Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp): The only rules that really matter are these: what a man can do and what a man can't do. For instance, you can accept that your father was a pirate and a good man or you can't. But pirate is in your blood, boy, so you'll have to square with that some day. And me, for example, I can let you drown, but I can't bring this ship into Tortuga all by me onesies, savvy? So, can you sail under the command of a pirate, or can you not? - From "Pirates of the Caribbean:The Curse of the Black Pearl"

The song is "Davy Jones" from "Pirates of the Caribbean:Dead Man's Chest".

And lastly the story! It's a short and little spooky story called "ICKBARR BIGELSTEINE" I first heard of it when I was watching my favourite youtube person, ChaoticMonki (CRY). He had done a very good reading of it and I had slight chills down my spine.Enjoy!

Ickbarr Bigelsteine- by Stephan D. Harris (from creepypasta.com)

When I was a small child, I was terrified of the dark. I still am, but back when I was around six years old I couldn’t go a full night without crying out for one of my parents to search beneath my bed or in my closet for whatever monster I thought was waiting to eat me. Even with a night light, I would still see dark shapes moving around the corners of the room, or strange faces looking in on me from my bedroom window. My parents would do their best to console me, telling me that it was just a bad dream or a trick of the light, but in my young mind I was positive that the second I fell asleep, the bad things would get me. Most of the time I would just hide under the blankets until I became tired enough to stop worrying, but every now and then I would become so panicked that I would run screaming into my parents room, waking up my brother and sister in the process. After an ordeal like that, there would be no way anyone would be getting a full nights rest.
Eventually, after one particularly traumatizing night, my parents had had enough. Unfortunately for them, they understood the futility in arguing with a six year old and knew that they would be unable to convince me to rid myself of childish fears through reason and logic. They had to be clever.
It was my mother’s idea to stitch together my little bedtime friend.
She collected a large assortment of random pieces of fabric and her sewing machine and created what I would later refer to as Mr. Ickbarr Bigelsteine, or Ick for short. Ick was a sock monster, as my mother called him. He was made to keep me safe while I slept at night by scarring away all the other monsters. He was pretty damn creepy, I had to admit. Honestly, looking back on it all now, I’m still impressed that my mom could think of something so strange and disturbing looking. Ickbarr had the stitched together look of a Frankenstein gremlin, with big white button eyes and floppy cat ears. His little arms and legs were made from a pair of my sister’s black and white striped socks, and the half of his face that was green was made from one of my brother’s tall football socks. His head could have been described as bulbous, and for his mouth my mom attached a piece of white fabric and sewed in a zigzag pattern to shape a wide grin of sharp teeth. I loved him at once.
From then on, Ick never left my side. So long as it was after dusk, of course. Ick didn’t like the sun, and would get upset if I tried to bring him to school with me. But that was okay, I only needed him at night to keep away the boogeymen, which was what he was good at. So every night at bedtime, Ick would tell me where the monsters were hiding, and I would place him near the section of my room closest to the spookiness. If there was something in the closet, Ick would block the door. If there was a dark creature scratching at my window, Ick would be pressed up against the glass. If there was a big hairy beast under my bed, then under the bed he went. Sometimes the monsters weren’t even in my room. Sometimes, they would hide in my dreams, and Ickbarr would have to come with me into my nightmares. It was fun bringing Ick into my dream world, as he and I would spend hours fighting off ghouls and demons. The best part was, in my dreams, Ick could talk to me for real. “How much do you love me?” He would ask.
“More than anything.” I would always tell him. One night in a dream, after I had lost my first tooth, Ick asked me for a favor.
“Can I have your tooth?”
I asked him why.
“To help me kill the bad things.” He said.
The next morning at breakfast, my mom asked me where my tooth went. From what she told me, the “tooth fairy” didn’t find it under my pillow. When I told her that I gave it to Ickbarr, she just shrugged and went back to feeding my little sister. From then on, every time I lost a tooth, I would give it to Ick. He would always thank me, of course, and tell me that he loved me. Eventually though, I ran out of baby teeth, and I was beginning to get a little too old to still be playing with dolls. So Ick just sat there on my bookshelf collecting dust, slowly fading away from my attention.
Over time the nightmares, however, became worse than ever. So bad that they even began to follow me to the waking world, terrorizing every dark corner or rustle in the bushes. After one particularly bad night biking home from a friend’s house where I swore a pack of rabid dogs were chasing me, I got home to find something strange waiting for me in my room. There, on my bed, standing fully upright in the soft glow of the moon light from my window, was Ickbarr. At first I just thought my eyes were playing tricks on me again, they had been all evening, so I tried to flick on the lights. Another flick of the light switch. Then another, and another, with no change to the darkness. It was then that I started to get nervous.
I backed away slowly towards the door behind me, my eyes never leaving the shape of Ick’s silhouette, my hand awkwardly outstretched behind reaching for the doorknob. I was just about to get my ass out of there when I heard the door slam itself shut, locking me into blackness. In nothing but shadows and silence, I stood frozen in place, not even breathing. For how long I can’t say, but after what felt like a lifetime of cold fear, I heard the shrill, familiar voice.
“You stopped feeding me, so why should I protect you?”
“Protect me from what?”
“Let me show you.”
I blinked once, and everything changed. I wasn’t in my bedroom anymore, I was somewhere… else. It wasn’t Hell, but the comparison wasn’t far off. It was some sort of forest, a horrible, nightmarish place where partial embryonic abortions hung from the canopy, and the ground swarmed with carnivorous insects. A thick fog wafted through the air and with it the stench of rotting meat, while chartreuse lightening flashed across the night sky. In the distance, I could hear the agonizing screams of something not quite human. My head throbbed like it was about to explode, the pain forcing out a river of tears. In my mind, I heard his voice again.
“This is what your reality would become without me.”
I felt earth shaking footsteps approaching fast.
“I’m the only one who can stop it.”
It was behind me now, huge and angry, hot breath across my back.
“Bring me what I need, and I will.”
I woke up before I could turn around.
The following day I raided my parent’s closet for my brother’s baby teeth, giving them all to Ickbarr. Almost immediately the night terrors ceased, and I was more or less able to go on about my life as normal. From time to time, I would have to sneak into my little sister’s room and snatch what was meant for the tooth fairy, or strangle one of the neighborhood cats and pry out its sharp little incisors. Anything to ward off the visions, anything from a shark tooth necklace to a cavity ridden bicuspid. I also began to notice that Ick would move about my room whenever I left for any length of time, rearranging my stuff and hanging additional curtains. He was even beginning to look more lifelike, somehow. In the right light his teeth would glisten, and he was warm to the touch. As much as he creeped me out, I couldn’t work up the courage to just destroy him, knowing perfectly well where that would leave me. So I went on collecting teeth for Ick throughout all of high school and college. The older I got, the more things I would learn to fear, the more teeth Ick would need to keep me safe.
I’m 22 years old now, with a decent job, my own apartment, and a set of dentures. It’s been almost a month since Ick’s last meal, and the horrors are starting to crowd around me once more. I took a detour through a parking garage after work tonight. Found a man fumbling with his car keys. His teeth were stained yellow from a lifetime of cigarettes and coffee. Even still, I had to use a hammer to get out the molars. When I got back to my apartment, he was waiting for me. On the ceiling, in the corner. Two white eyes and mouth of razors.
“How much do you love me?” He asks.
“More than anything,” I reply, taking off my coat.
“More than anything in the world.”

Have a great week! Until Next time!!

Of The Week/In Remembrance

Hello. I hope that every one of you will participate in a Remembrance
Day ceremony somewhere near you. If not at least participate in two minutes of silence. So many lives were lost in the wars. My own grandfather fought in WW2. Fortunately he didn't die so I got to know him but he was very different. He had watched his best friend die beside him. Who will you remember?

Instead of a quote I am putting up a poem. "In Flanders Fields" by John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
         In Flanders Fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
         In Flanders fields.

And for a song, "The Last Post"

And here is another one "Highway of Heros" by The Trews

Of The Week

The nerve of Pippin to make you wait so long! I nearly slapped that hobbit pal of mine! Haha, just kidding, but seriously, I am terribly sorry for the long wait.
So... Did everyone have a spooky, candy-filled, and fun Halloween? I sure did! For my costume I was a weird nerd/gamer zombie thingy.... you couldn't really tell that I was a zombie unless I took off my glasses, but I can only go so long without glasses before getting dizzy. It sucks lol.
Well... I suppose we should get to business. :D

The quote is:
"Remember, remember the fifth of November"- Hugo Weaving (V) from V for Vendetta

The song is: First Time by Finger Eleven

And I know Pippin already gave you a bonus video, but I feel like giving you another!
Can you last the ten minutes?

Of The Week

Hey hey hey! Happy Saturday! And to all the Canadians out there, Happy early Thanksgiving! Woo! Turkey Day! xD So how was everyone's week? Hmm? Mine was... painful, but good! Now, before I get to the song and quote, I've got a little random piece of information. Did you know that there is a drug in turkey that makes you sleepy? That drug is called L-Tryptophan. Pretty interesting huh? Anywho, off to business.

This weeks quote is:
"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss it, you will land among the stars"- Les Brown.

And the song is an awesome one from the 1940s... Don't judge. It's good if you like jazz/swing/blues and big band music. It's called "Sing, Sing, Sing" and its by Benny Goodman.

Anyways I hope you enjoy! <3 Merry

In Remembrance

As most of you know, today marks the eleventh anniversary of the tragic 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers. We didn't know anyone who was killed but we remember hearing stories about it at a young age. Our deepest condolences to the family members friends who had loved ones lost. We hope that you will remember the good times you had. May the deceased rest in peace.

I chose this song because it's true. When this tragedy happened, many people had been having fun. Everyone there is an accident, someone is healed. Everytime there is a death, skmewhere else there is life.

Funny The Way it is by Dave Matthews Band.

In Remembrance...

Today is a sad day in history. A great man has passed away. This morning Michael Clarke Duncan passed away at the age of 54. For those of you who don't know who he is, he played John Coffey in "The Green Mile". This was the role he was most famous for yet he did so many other great movies such as "The Scorpion King" as Balthazer and "Armageddon" as Bear. R.I.P. our dear friend. You will be forever missed by you family, friends, and your fans. Love you! <3

If you would like to know more about this beloved actor check him out on IMDB

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0003817/bio

And I thought it would be appropriate to share this song with you. It's from Armageddon.

So, Rest in peace, Michael. Hollywood won't be the same without you. Our deepest love-The Nerd Word <3
